Yongsan-gu to Present Jazz Performance of "The Sound of Music" on November 13

A Special Free Concert in Collaboration with the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts

Yongsan-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Heeyoung) will present a jazz reinterpretation of "The Sound of Music" at 7:00 p.m. on November 13 at the Mir Grand Theater in Yongsan Art Hall. This special performance will feature all the original soundtrack songs from the world-renowned film "The Sound of Music," newly arranged and performed by Korea's top jazz artists.

In particular, following a performance agreement signed with the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in May, the Sejong Center's own arts troupe will participate, raising expectations for a high-quality performance.


The pieces have been arranged by pianist and accordionist Dave Yoo, and the lineup includes leading Korean musicians such as drummer Oh Jongdae, bassist Song Miho, vibraphonist Kim Yechang, cellist Kim Younghwan, saxophonist Kim Suhwan, and jazz vocalist Baek Hyoeun. The performance is free for all Yongsan-gu residents aged 8 and older, with admission on a first-come, first-served basis.


Park Heeyoung, Mayor of Yongsan-gu, stated, "It is meaningful to offer a high-quality arts performance to our residents through collaboration with the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts," adding, "We will continue to provide a variety of outstanding performances so that everyone can enjoy art and culture in their daily lives."
