[2025 Women's Forum] Kakao Shines for Efforts in Diversity and Human Rights Management

Kakao received the Minister of Employment and Labor Award at the 10th Asia Gender Equality Index Awards, in recognition of its proactive efforts to promote work-life balance and its commitment to human rights management that respects diversity.

Kakao's work-life balance support system is considered to be among the best in the industry. Workplace childcare centers, operated at locations such as the Pangyo and Jeju offices, can accommodate a total of 907 children and offer specialized programs based on the standard childcare curriculum.


In addition, the company guarantees up to 90 days of family care leave annually for reasons such as parenting, elder care, accidents, illness, or other caregiving responsibilities. To support employees’ well-being, Kakao grants a one-month sabbatical with full salary and an additional 2 million won in vacation allowance for every three years of continuous service. The last week of each month is designated as a "Month-End Recovery Day," during which employees work only four days a week.


Pregnant employees receive kits that include items such as electromagnetic wave-blocking blankets and lumbar supports, while staff with children entering elementary school are given gifts containing essential items for their children. Furthermore, Kakao conducts human rights impact assessments every other year. Based on these efforts, the company was selected last year as an excellent company for gender equality in employment by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
