Applications for K-arts on the Go Open from November 17
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on November 5 that, together with the Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange, it will hold the first round of applications for "K-arts on the Go" for 2026 from November 17 to December 1.
K-arts on the Go is a program that provides support for airfare and shipping costs when Korean artists receive invitations from outstanding overseas arts festivals, performance venues, museums, and other cultural and artistic platforms. Since overseas performances and exhibitions require artists or their works to be physically present at the location, significant expenses for airfare and shipping are incurred. In response, the Ministry introduced K-arts on the Go in November of last year to offer convenient support for artists through a streamlined process.
The K-arts on the Go application process is held three times a year-every November of the preceding year, and in March and July of the relevant year-so that artists, as the primary applicants, can prepare in advance according to their schedules. Over the past three rounds, a total of 83 performances and exhibitions (by artists or groups) have applied, and 56 cases that met the required criteria received support.
In particular, the program supports works that are invited based on the "Platform Directory," which lists outstanding overseas cultural and artistic festivals and venues. As of the end of October, the Platform Directory provides information on 509 performing arts platforms and 248 visual arts platforms across 71 countries.
Kim Hyunjun, Director of International Cultural Policy at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, stated, "As K-culture is attracting significant global attention, overseas performance and exhibition platforms are showing increasing interest in Korean arts and culture. K-arts on the Go will serve as a bridge that brings Korean artists closer to cultural and artistic communities around the world."
