Kanbu Chicken: "Donating 10% of Sales Proceeds"
Kanbu Chicken, a chicken franchise, has officially launched a set menu recreating the dishes enjoyed during the "chimaek meeting" attended by Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, Lee Jae-yong, Chairman of Samsung Electronics, and Chung Euisun, Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group.
On November 4, Kanbu Chicken announced on its official social media channels, "This is the exact combination favored by the chairmen," adding, "We are grateful for this special opportunity. To share our gratitude, we will donate 10% of the sales proceeds."
Kanbu Chicken has released the "AI Kanbu Set," priced at 23,000 won, which includes crispy boneless chicken, crispy six-pack, and cheese sticks. This set faithfully replicates the menu combination the three executives enjoyed at the Kanbu Chicken Samseong branch in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on October 30. Kanbu Chicken explained, "This exact trio is the talk of the town these days."
Following the "chimaek meeting" last month, Kanbu Chicken locations saw a surge in visitors. The Seongbok branch in Suji-gu, Yongin-the first Kanbu Chicken location-temporarily closed due to an overwhelming number of orders, while the Samseong branch even posted a notice stating, "Jensen Huang CEO's table is limited to one hour per use." As demand at stores soared and chicken supplies temporarily ran short, the headquarters suspended operations at 14 directly managed stores, including the main Yongin branch.
"Kanbu" means "close friend" and became known worldwide through the line "We are kanbu, aren't we?" from the Netflix series "Squid Game."
