Assessing Resident Evaluations and Policy Satisfaction under the 8th Administration
Gwangjin District in Seoul (Mayor Kim Kyungho) announced on November 4 that it will conduct the “2025 Gwangjin Re-Creation First Year Resident Satisfaction Survey” to directly hear residents’ perspectives on their quality of life and to make Gwangjin a better place to live.
This survey is being conducted to comprehensively assess residents’ evaluations of the overall administration under the 8th popularly elected district government and their satisfaction with major policies, in order to review the achievements of the past three years and to design future development directions together with residents.
The survey will be conducted from November 1 to 16, targeting 1,000 Gwangjin residents aged 18 or older. The sample will be distributed according to the population ratio of each area, and Korea Gallup Research Institute, a professional research agency, will carry out the survey through face-to-face questionnaires.
The questionnaire consists of about 20 items, including: ▲ evaluation of living environment ▲ satisfaction with district administration ▲ perceived effectiveness of policies ▲ satisfaction with policies by sector ▲ selection of the top 10 outstanding projects of the 8th administration. In addition, to mark the 30th anniversary of Gwangjin District Office, the survey includes an item to collect residents’ open opinions on “Gwangjin’s changes and future vision.”
Last year’s satisfaction survey recorded an average score of 71.6 points, with 95.3% of respondents answering that the district was “doing well.” Residents showed high interest and satisfaction with policies such as the “six-day-per-week household waste collection system,” improvements to the cleaning environment, the “expansion of Achasan leisure facilities,” and the “2040 Gwangjin Re-Creation Plan.” Based on this year’s survey results, Gwangjin District plans to conduct a detailed analysis of strengths and weaknesses by area and implement customized policies that reflect local characteristics.
Kim Kyungho, Mayor of Gwangjin District, stated, “Every single resident’s voice is the starting point for Gwangjin’s policies,” adding, “We will accurately identify the needs and wishes of our residents and respond with policies that address them. We ask for your active participation and responses.”
