Children, Families, and the Local Community Practice Carbon Neutrality Together
Ebenezer Kindergarten, located in Yeongam, South Jeolla Province, announced on November 4 that it held a "Resource Circulation Open Bazaar" on November 1 at the kindergarten, where children, families, and the local community participated together in carbon neutrality practice activities.
This bazaar was organized as part of education on responding to the climate crisis, which has emerged as a major social issue, and carbon neutrality. Its purpose was to raise awareness about the importance of environmental protection through the practice of resource circulation in daily life.

Since the beginning of this year, the kindergarten has been running an annual curriculum focused on carbon neutrality practices, and has been holding the "Resource Circulation Open Bazaar" twice, encouraging participation from both children and their families.
During the first bazaar, children accumulated points for their carbon neutrality activities and used them to purchase eco-friendly products as part of a hands-on experience. The second bazaar focused on expanding the culture of resource circulation by involving both the local community and families.
At the event, donated items such as clothing, books, toys, and small appliances from children's families were sold at affordable prices. There were also food booths operated by teachers and parents, as well as upcycling experience booths hosted by local sellers.
In particular, the "Upcycling Craft Experience," where participants made household items using recycled materials, received an enthusiastic response. Environmental education programs, including resource circulation education and a waste separation quiz, were also held concurrently. The proceeds from the bazaar were donated to local welfare organizations and groups, further adding to the spirit of sharing.
A representative from the kindergarten stated, "This event was not just a simple sales event, but an educational opportunity for children, families, and the local community to practice environmental protection together," adding, "We plan to continue offering various programs to further spread the culture of carbon neutrality practices."
Ebenezer Kindergarten plans to hold a third "Resource Circulation Open Bazaar" in February next year, marking the conclusion of a year-long carbon neutrality education program. This event will focus on hands-on activities, with children directly participating in both donation and sales.
