Actor Lee Eekyung will be leaving the MBC variety show "Hangout with Yoo?"
On November 4, the production team of MBC's "Hangout with Yoo" stated, "Lee Eekyung has been facing difficulties participating in the program due to his schedule, including overseas commitments, and he recently expressed his intention to step down. After discussion, we have decided to support each other's paths." The team added, "We are grateful to Lee Eekyung for showing such passion despite his busy schedule."
Lee Eekyung joined "Hangout with Yoo" in September 2022 and has appeared on the show for three years. His agency, Sangyoung ENT, said, "He is leaving 'Hangout with Yoo' due to his film shooting schedule, but will continue filming 'I Am Solo' and 'Brave Detectives' as planned."
Meanwhile, Lee Eekyung was recently embroiled in rumors regarding his personal life. Last month, a woman claiming to be German, referred to as Ms. A, posted online what she alleged were conversations with Lee Eekyung, sparking controversy. However, Ms. A later admitted that the content was fabricated using artificial intelligence (AI) and posted an apology. In response, Sangyoung ENT stated, "Through our legal representative, we have filed a complaint with the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul for defamation and spreading false information. There has been no discussion of settlement or compensation, and there will not be any going forward."
