"Let's Walk Together on Namsan"... Seoul Tourism Organization Eco Hiking Festa

The Seoul Tourism Organization announced on November 4 that it will host the "Seoul Eco Hiking Festa" at Namsangol Hanok Village on November 15-16 and 22-23, ideal dates for enjoying the autumn atmosphere.

During the peak of the autumn foliage season, a variety of themed hiking events will take place, including performance hiking and family hiking, allowing both Seoul citizens and international tourists to participate together.

On November 15, the festival will kick off with an opening ceremony, followed by a "Performance Hiking" event where participants will walk together on Namsan dressed in hanbok or hanbok-inspired outfits and accessories, embodying the concept of Joseon-era hikers. Along the hiking route, participants will be treated to various performances such as Madangnori (traditional outdoor performances) and walking plays featuring traditional stories, as well as surprise events, providing a unique and enjoyable experience.

On the same day, the disbandment ceremony for the Seoul Hiking Tourism Global Supporters, "Global Hiking Mate," will also take place. Among the 100 Global Hiking Mates who were actively engaged throughout the year, outstanding participants who completed more than 10 missions annually will be awarded certificates in the name of the CEO of the Seoul Tourism Organization.

On the second day of the event, November 16, a "Challenge Hiking" will be held. Participants can freely hike one of two Namsan courses of varying difficulty, and those who post a certification photo with the challenge flag at designated points on the course to their social networking service (SNS) accounts will receive a completion certificate and hiking goods as souvenirs.

The "Family Hiking" event on November 22 is a program that follows the Namsan barrier-free trail, allowing participation by people with limited mobility, including those with strollers. On November 23, a "Yoga Hiking" event will be held, featuring health programs such as yoga and posture correction before and after hiking on Namsan.

All events at the Seoul Eco Hiking Festa are free of charge, and participants can register via Naver Form until November 10. The event schedule and further details are available on the official Seoul Hiking Tourism Instagram account.

If there are cancellations, limited on-site registration will be available for those spots. Even if you have not pre-registered, you are free to participate in various experience booths operated on-site, and inquiries can be made through the Seoul Eco Hiking Festa KakaoTalk open chat room.

Gil Kiyoun, CEO of the Seoul Tourism Organization, stated, "We have planned this event so that citizens and international tourists can enjoy Namsan, located at the heart of Seoul, during the most beautiful autumn foliage season," and added, "We will continue to make various efforts to widely promote the appeal of Namsan and other mountains in Seoul and to develop Seoul's mountains as tourism resources."
