Based on the Grand Prize Winner of the 2018 Gyeongnam Story Contest
Original Work: "Arirang of the Liberation Army"
The Department of Digital Performing Arts and Video at Kyungnam University will present the original musical "Dawn" at the 3·15 Art Hall from November 7 to 9.
This production, presented in collaboration with the Changwon Cultural Foundation's 3·15 Art Center, is based on "Arirang of the Liberation Army," which won the grand prize at the 2018 Gyeongnam Story Contest.
The musical "Dawn" is set in a gisaeng school during the Japanese colonial period in the 1920s. It tells the story of artists and independence activists who, while following their own paths, move toward the shared goal of "independence." The main point of interest for the audience is how each character's choices, amid the intersection of art and struggle, love and sacrifice, will shape their destinies.
The performance is directed by Professor Yoo Youngjae, with students from the department participating as actors and in all aspects of production, alongside local citizen actors from the Gyeongnam region.
Tickets can be reserved through YES24 and the official website of the Changwon Cultural Foundation. For inquiries, please contact the Department of Digital Performing Arts and Video at Kyungnam University.
