Strengthening the Status of a Global Cluster through AI and Data Innovation in Biohealth Convergence

Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Shin Sangjin) announced on November 4 that it achieved significant results at the "2025 Seongnam International Bio Healthcare Convention (SBIC 2025)" held at the Seongnam Global Convergence Center from October 23 to 24, including a total of 31 billion KRW (approximately 22.66 million USD) in business consultations.

Under the theme "AI and Data Innovation: The Future of the Biohealth Industry," the event brought together about 1,000 participants, including over 200 domestic and international institutions and companies, and 39 overseas buyers from 13 countries, facilitating active exchanges.


Over the two days, a total of 296 consultations were conducted, with the consultation amount reaching 22.66 million USD (approximately 31 billion KRW), and the amount of contracts under negotiation totaling 12.24 million USD (approximately 17 billion KRW).


Additionally, nine memorandums of understanding (MOUs) were signed on site, strengthening collaborative networks between domestic and international companies and hospitals. These included agreements between LOCUS, a medical device specialist, and Mongolia Japan Hospital in Mongolia, as well as between SAFEWARE, a smart wearable airbag company, and SNRM MARKETING INDIA in India.


During the convention, a variety of programs were held, including keynote speeches, global conferences, investment briefings, company exhibitions, export consultation sessions, and networking programs, covering topics such as AI-based drug development, digital healthcare innovation, and strategies for utilizing medical data.

In particular, the event further elevated the status of Seongnam's advanced biohealth cluster centered around Pangyo Techno Valley, and it was recognized as a hub for the global innovation ecosystem through the convergence of AI and biohealth.


Mayor Shin Sangjin stated, "This year's SBIC 2025 went beyond a simple exhibition or consultation event, demonstrating that Seongnam is emerging as a key city in the global biohealth industry. Based on the advanced Seongnam Biohealth Cluster to be established in the future, we will strengthen overseas networks and tailor support policies to help companies expand into the global market."
