This event was organized to share the achievements of the 'Regional Connection Project Class' promoted by Goyang Special City. More than 70 students from five majors-Creative Writing, Acting, Dance, Fine Arts, and Music-at Goyang Arts High School participated, presenting a total of nine short integrated art performances on stage.

In particular, the works used the history and culture of Goyang City and stories of the local community as their themes, and were evaluated as exemplary cases of regional connection education, where school education expands into the local community.

Before the official performance, Mayor Lee Donghwan visited the rehearsal site in the morning to observe the students' stage. He encouraged their passion and efforts, saying, "You, who illuminate the city through art, are the protagonists creating the 'future of Goyang'." He also expressed his gratitude, saying, "Thank you for inviting me," in response to the students' personal invitation.

Mayor Lee emphasized, "The way different majors-creative writing, acting, dance, fine arts, and music-come together as one art form symbolizes the 'city of convergence and creativity in education' that Goyang Special City aspires to. The city will actively support the virtuous cycle in which arts education grows alongside the community."

The 'Regional Connection Project Class' is a learning innovation project that Goyang Special City has been promoting since 2019, where schools and the local community work together. It is a regionally specialized education policy that supports students' learning to extend beyond schools into the community by utilizing local experts and resources.

This case at Goyang Arts High School is one of the outcomes of the project. With a municipal grant of 10 million won, students wrote scripts and organized performances themselves on the themes of Goyang City's history and stories of the local community, making it a student-led integrated arts class.

Goyang Arts High School is the only arts high school in northern Gyeonggi Province. Over the past three years, it has received a total of about 280 million won in educational expenses from Goyang Special City, operating programs to strengthen artistic capabilities such as facility improvements, creative performances, and special lectures by artists.

Additionally, this year, the school was selected for the 'Goyang Future Talent JUMP UP Project' and received a municipal grant of 5 million won for 'special lectures by professional artists and career preparation activities'.

Going forward, the city plans to continuously expand its Goyang-style customized education policies that leverage the diversity and expertise of schools, under the principle that "universal education is the responsibility of the Office of Education, while specialized education is the responsibility of Goyang City."
