A Citizen-Participatory Festival Spreading the Culture of Giving
Over 3,000 Runners Join... Proceeds to Support Undernourished Children and Vulnerable Groups
Gumi City in North Gyeongsang Province successfully concluded the 'Donate and Run at the Same Time! 2025 GIVE RUN in Gumi' marathon event at Nakdong River Sports Park on November 1.
This event was hosted by the Good People Daegu-Gyeongbuk Branch in cooperation with Gumi City. About 3,000 runners who paid a participation fee of 40,000 won each registered in advance and took part in either the 5km or 10km course. The proceeds will be used to support meal programs for underprivileged children and other vulnerable groups in the Gumi area.
'2025 GIVE RUN in Gumi' was organized as a citizen-participatory festival that goes beyond simply running, aiming to spread a culture of giving.
A variety of companies, including No Brand, Cerasell, hy, and Goal Studio, sponsored the event. Social enterprises such as Ecosome Korea and the Kumoh Community Welfare Center also participated by operating experience booths, promoting their products, and publicizing their organizational activities, further enhancing the spirit of sharing.
Lee Wonbong, Vice President of Good People, said, "I am grateful that so many citizens joined us for the first GIVE RUN event in Gumi," adding, "We will continue to spread a culture of good giving that shares love for neighbors and promotes health."
Kim Jangho, Mayor of Gumi, stated, "We are delighted that Gumi City could be part of this meaningful occasion where giving and running come together at Nakdong River Sports Park, colored by the hues of autumn," and added, "I hope every citizen will become a mainstay of a healthy culture of giving."
