Fire-Damaged Timber from Gyeongbuk Used in Furniture for APEC Summit

Donghwa Enterprise Delivers Particleboards Made from Fire-Damaged Timber
"Utilizing Fire-Damaged Timber, 90% of Which Is Typically Incinerated"

Donghwa Enterprise announced on November 3 that it has supplied particleboards made from recycled fire-damaged timber to KOAS, the official furniture sponsor of the 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit.

Donghwa Enterprise produced the particleboards using fire-damaged timber felled in the major wildfire-affected areas of Gyeongbuk, including Andong City, Yeongyang County, and Uiseong County, in March. The particleboards were delivered to KOAS, where they underwent further processing and were then used to manufacture sponsored furniture for the APEC Summit.

A representative from Donghwa Enterprise stated, "This project is a meaningful example of collaboration, as it transformed fire-damaged timber-about 90% of which is typically incinerated-into high value-added products. We will continue to seek sustainable solutions for the virtuous cycle of domestic timber through ongoing public-private cooperation."
