Commendations for Contributions,
Environmental Cleanup Activities, and More
The Jinju Small Business Association in South Gyeongsang Province announced on November 3 that it held the "2025 Jinju Small Business Owners' Day" event at the Pyeonggeo-dong outdoor stage, with more than 300 local small business owners and citizens in attendance.
Now in its fifth year, this event was organized to celebrate the upcoming "Small Business Owners' Day," encourage the hard work of local small business owners, and reaffirm their determination for a new leap forward. Small Business Owners' Day is observed every year on November 5, and is a legally designated anniversary under the Framework Act on Small Businesses to improve the social and economic status of small business owners and to strengthen relationships with local residents.
The event featured a pre-ceremony program including a flea market with local small business owners, performances by invited singers, and a prize draw, followed by a commemorative ceremony and an environmental cleanup activity. Many citizens participated in the pre-ceremony activities, further highlighting the purpose and value of Small Business Owners' Day.
During the commemorative ceremony, 14 outstanding small business owners, recognized for their contributions to advancing the rights and interests of small business owners as active members of the association, were awarded commendations in appreciation of their achievements.
Mayor Cho Kyu-il stated, "I hope this event serves as an opportunity to remind each small business owner of their pride and becomes a venue for unity and communication among members. We will actively communicate with the Small Business Association and strive to develop practical support measures that reflect the voices from the field."
Meanwhile, the Jinju Small Business Association, as the legally recognized economic organization representing small business owners in Jinju, is taking the lead in promoting their rights and interests by operating a consultation call center to address difficulties, making policy proposals, and providing information.
