Laying the Foundation for a Nightscape Landmark and Tourism Revitalization in the City

On an autumn night, the area around Uiam Lake in Chuncheon will be illuminated with vibrant lights. Chuncheon City in Gangwon Province (Mayor Yuk Donghan) announced that it will hold a "Lighting Ceremony with Music on an Autumn Night" at 5 p.m. on the 6th at Uiam Neighborhood Park in Samcheon-dong, unveiling the newly developed "Uiam Lake Nightscape Belt" to the public for the first time.

The lighting targets include the "Uiam Lake Romantic Light Project" (from Samaksan Cable Car to the Air Dome section), the reconstruction of the media facade on Soyang 2nd Bridge, and the installation of landscape lighting at Uiam Neighborhood Park. Through this event, the city will introduce the nightscape belt, which extends along the waterfront of Uiam Lake, to citizens for the first time.

The event will begin with a pre-ceremony concert, followed by a lighting performance accompanied by a video screening. Interactive lighting experiences, such as the "Pillar of Light" and "Moonlight Garden," in which citizens can participate directly, will add to the romantic atmosphere of the autumn night.

Chuncheon City plans to use this lighting ceremony as an opportunity to transform the Uiam Lake area into a healing space within the city, while also invigorating tourism and the local economy.

A city official stated, "We aim to make Chuncheon's nights even more beautiful through the nightscape of Uiam Lake and the Soyang River area," adding, "We will ensure that it becomes a memorable landmark for both citizens and tourists."
