Daepyeong-dong in Sejong City Local Administrative Town Holds United Residents' Sports Festival

Recreational Games, Cultural Performances, and Hands-On Activities Offered

Daepyeong-dong, one of the local administrative towns in Sejong City, announced on November 2 that it held the "3rd Daepyeong-dong Residents' Unity Sports Festival" at the Haengbok Nurimteo (Multipurpose Community Center) gymnasium on November 1.

According to officials, the event was organized to promote community sports and provide an opportunity for residents to come together in unity. On this day, a variety of attractions were presented, including a pre-event performance by Daepyeong-dong's young Taekwondo practitioners, the Daepyeong Hangeul Light Quiz, recreational games, and a performance using balloons.

In the experience zone, activities such as inflatable play equipment (air bounce), decorating Hangeul-themed snacks, and trying out tattoo stickers were offered, receiving enthusiastic responses from families. In connection with the resident-selected village planning project, "Creating a Bicycle City Starting in Daepyeong-dong," an electricity-generating bicycle experience was also provided, giving residents an opportunity to appreciate the value of electricity.

Organizations such as the Daepyeong-dong Heads Association, the Residents' Autonomous Committee, the Community Social Security Council, the Barugesalgi Movement Daepyeong-dong Committee, and the Korea Freedom Federation Daepyeong-dong Branch worked together to ensure safety and further fueled the spirit of community unity.

Kang Okju, President of the Daepyeong-dong Sports Association, said, "This event was organized as a venue for residents to gather, unite, and communicate with one another," adding, "I hope everyone enjoyed the sports festival safely and had a revitalizing time that brings energy to their daily lives."
