Daegu Dalseo District (District Mayor Lee Taehun) announced on November 2 that, ahead of the launch of its regular courses in 2026, it will hold its first-ever public recruitment of instructors for the Dalseo Lifelong Learning Center.
This recruitment is significant as it marks a new institutional turning point by providing local residents with diverse lifelong learning opportunities and selecting an instructor team characterized by professionalism and fairness.
Since its opening this year, the Dalseo Lifelong Learning Center, the largest in the region, has quickly established itself as a hub for lifelong education by offering a variety of programs such as quarterly regular courses, open special lectures, citizen academies, and learning consultations.
This public recruitment aims to further enhance the educational quality of the center by selecting instructors with expertise and competence through a transparent and systematic process. Recruitment covers seven areas-languages, cooking & tea, music, art, sports for daily life, culture & leisure, and plant crafts-with a total of 50 courses and 35 instructors to be selected.
In particular, the center will also recruit for free-proposal courses (other categories) that reflect citizens' interests and current trends, providing instructors with the opportunity to propose new content and further diversify the local learning culture.
Applications will be accepted for three days, from November 5 to 7. Applicants can download the application form from the Dalseo District Office website, complete it, and submit it in person to the Dalseo Lifelong Learning Center.
Dalseo District plans to use this public recruitment as a starting point to shift from an 'instructor-centered' approach to a 'learning city created together with residents.'
The district aims to establish a mutually beneficial lifelong education model by opening opportunities for local professionals to participate in education and expanding high-quality learning opportunities for residents.
Lee Taehun, Mayor of Dalseo District, stated, "This public recruitment marks the beginning of open lifelong learning that the Dalseo Lifelong Learning Center will create together with the local community. The participation of experts from various fields will enable the operation of customized courses that reflect the needs of residents."
