Kim Seoyoung and Lee Doosoon Receive Order of Industrial Service Merit... 4th Hydrogen Day Held

The Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment announced that it will hold the 4th Hydrogen Day Ceremony at The Plaza Hotel in Seoul on the morning of November 3, with approximately 200 participants from the hydrogen industry, academia, and research sectors, including Vice Minister Lee Hoyoun and Kim Jaehong, President of the Korea Hydrogen Association.

The Hydrogen Day Ceremony, now in its fourth year, was established to raise public awareness and foster social consensus on the expansion of the hydrogen economy, as well as to encourage professionals in the hydrogen industry. Last year, it was designated as a legal commemorative day (November 2 every year).

At this year’s ceremony, awards will be presented to 34 individuals who have contributed to the activation of the hydrogen economy and the advancement of the hydrogen industry. Kim Seoyoung, CEO of Hylium Industries, and Lee Doosoon, CEO of Doosan Fuel Cell, will receive the Order of Industrial Service Merit. The city of Incheon will be awarded the Presidential Citation, and Lee Imcheol, Director at IGE, will receive the Prime Minister’s Citation.

Vice Minister Lee Hoyoun stated, "The government is currently pursuing an energy transition centered on renewable energy and the construction of an energy superhighway. Hydrogen plays a significant role as an energy source that can efficiently store and transport electricity generated through the expansion of renewable energy." He added, "The government will systematically establish a clean hydrogen full-cycle ecosystem and provide policy and institutional support for private sector investment and technology development efforts."
