Hanwha Eagles Finish as Runners-up for the First Time in 19 Years

The LG Twins reclaimed the Korean Series championship for the first time in two years, defeating Hanwha with a series score of 4-1.

On the 31st, LG secured a 4-1 victory against the Hanwha Eagles in Game 5 of the 2025 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO Korean Series (best-of-seven) held at Daejeon Hanwha Life Ballpark.


After winning Games 1 and 2 in Jamsil and then capturing Games 4 and 5 in Daejeon, LG achieved a combined championship by sweeping both the regular season and the Korean Series for the first time in two years since 2023.


This marks the fourth time LG has claimed the Korean Series title, following previous victories in 1990, 1994, and 2023.


Hanwha, which was aiming to recapture the Korean Series crown for the first time in 26 years since 1999, finished as runners-up for the first time in 19 years since 2006.
