Foreign Students Can Become Caregivers Too... Booyoung Group's Changshin University Produces Its First Foreign Graduate

For the first time, a foreign student at Changshin University, which was acquired by Booyoung Group, has obtained a domestic caregiver license.

According to Booyoung Group on October 31, Ishani, a Sri Lankan national who graduated from the master's program in the Department of Social Welfare at Changshin University, recently passed the final caregiver qualification exam. Ishani previously worked as a public official at the Galle District Office of Education in Sri Lanka and came to Korea to study the country's social welfare system. During her studies, she focused her research on elderly care systems, and after graduation, she completed the caregiver qualification program and passed the exam.

This is the first case in which a foreign student at Changshin University has obtained a domestic caregiver license. A university official stated, "This achievement demonstrates that foreign students can enter the Korean welfare field," and added, "We will continue to expand customized education programs and support systems so that foreign students can grow into professional caregivers in Korea."

Changshin University has been designated as a 'Foreign Caregiver Training University' certified by the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and operates education and practicum systems for foreign students. The university aims to establish itself as a hub for training foreign caregivers by cooperating with local care institutions.

Following the educational philosophy of Chairman Lee Joongkeun, who values education, Booyoung Group acquired Changshin University in 2019. Since then, the company has provided full scholarships for the first year to all new students and operates the internship-based 'Booyoung Track' program. The university has achieved a 100% freshman enrollment rate for four consecutive years and ranks first in job retention rates among four-year private universities in the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam region.
