The ceremony, held at the Radena Golf Club banquet hall in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, was attended by Choi Woonyeol, Chairman of the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants; Jeong Jaeyeon, President of Kangwon National University; executives of the institute; and approximately 20 members from the Gangwon region.

Oh Seungjun, Certified Public Accountant and Head of the Gangwon Business Division at Inseong Accounting Corporation, was appointed as the first president of the Gangwon Regional Certified Public Accountants Association. He plans to lead initiatives to enhance accounting transparency in the region and to promote the rights and interests of the members.

The Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants plans to establish regional associations of certified public accountants in a total of 49 areas-including local cities and districts in the Seoul metropolitan area-starting with Gangwon, by the end of this year to activate its regional network. Through this, the institute aims to facilitate communication and collaboration among members and to identify and pursue projects tailored to the characteristics of each region.

Chairman Choi emphasized, "The launch of the Gangwon Regional Certified Public Accountants Association marks an important starting point for enhancing accounting transparency in Gangwon Province and for strengthening both member rights and the regional network." He added, "Through active exchanges and cooperation among members, as well as collaborative activities with the institute, we will advance the local accounting environment and elevate the professionalism and standing of our members."

President Jeong stated, "The essence of accounting lies not in numbers, but in trust and transparency. I hope that the Gangwon Regional Certified Public Accountants Association will play a key role in making Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province more trustworthy and transparent through exchanges among members and connections with the local community." He added, "Kangwon National University will also collaborate in the fields of education, research, and community contribution to create a model in which the region and professional groups grow together."
