The event, held on October 27 at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas Grand Ballroom, was attended by more than 200 participants, including 90 startups currently being nurtured by Hanyang University, as well as 30 organizations such as venture capital firms, corporate venture capital firms, open innovation departments of large and medium-sized companies, and related institutions such as Korea Credit Guarantee Fund.

Now in its sixth year, Meet-up Day is the flagship program of the Hanyang University Startup Support Group. It is designed to address information asymmetry and maximize tangible outcomes such as actual investment attraction, proof of concept (PoC), and joint collaboration project discovery by providing key information from relevant institutions and matching startups based on their needs.

The Startup Support Group conducted a preliminary demand survey and arranged one-on-one pre-matching between startups, investors, open innovation partners, and related organizations. The event was organized into three industry-specific sessions (Zones): ▲Zone 1: Agri-food, Tourism, Cultural Content, Related Institutions ▲Zone 2: Bio, Healthcare, ICT, AI ▲Zone 3: Energy, Environment, Materials and Components, Mobility, Distribution, Commerce, Construction.

The program proceeded in the following order: ▲Reverse pitching by investors and large companies ▲One-on-one business meetings ▲Participant meet-up and networking. In particular, during the reverse pitching session, investors and large companies introduced their investment fund status, open innovation strategies, new business development approaches, and collaboration infrastructure, presenting opportunities for investment and partnership with startups. Following this, startups sought practical collaboration opportunities such as investment attraction and joint business development through one-on-one business meet-ups with investors and corporate representatives on site.

Ryu Changwan, Head of the Hanyang University Startup Support Group, stated, "This program provided startups with a valuable opportunity to meet investors and large companies in one place and gain practical collaboration opportunities." He added, "As a startup-focused university, we will continue to support the scaling up of startups and further strengthen a private sector-driven investment linkage ecosystem."

Meanwhile, Hanyang University is building a concentrated startup nurturing system based on the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' Startup-Focused University Program and the Seoul Campus Town Project. Through its "Startup Scaling Up Platform," which connects investment, open innovation, and industry-academia cooperation, the university is focusing on strengthening the growth engine of startups.
