[Gyeongju APEC] Lee: "Vietnam's Average Annual Growth Rate at 7%... Korea Wishes to Join in Its Development"

President Lee Jaemyung Holds Summit with Vietnamese President Luong Cuong

President Lee Jaemyung welcomed the visit of Vietnamese President Luong Cuong, stating, "Vietnam is currently experiencing overwhelming growth, with its average annual growth rate nearing 7 percent. Korea also wishes to be part of Vietnam's development and progress."

On the 30th, at the International Media HICO in Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, President Lee held a summit meeting with President Cuong and remarked, "I believe Vietnam is a great nation that has repelled the armed occupation attempts of Western powers through arduous struggle."


President Lee added, "I hope that President Cuong's visit will serve as an opportunity to establish a new and much greater partnership between Korea and Vietnam-one that is on a completely different level in all areas, including culture, people-to-people exchanges, economic cooperation, and security and defense collaboration."


President Cuong responded, "I would like to take this opportunity to convey the warm regards and greetings of Secretary-General Trong of the Communist Party to President Lee. I sincerely congratulate Korea on the successful hosting of the 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit and on the significant achievements the Korean people have made thus far."


President Cuong also stated, "Amidst the rapidly changing international situation, I highly appreciate Korea's role. I am confident that President Lee will continue to lead Korea to even greater and new miracles in the future."


Furthermore, President Cuong emphasized, "I am very pleased that the relationship between Vietnam and Korea has continued to strengthen over the past 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties. I believe our two countries can become trustworthy strategic partners and work together effectively."
