The Yeongdeok County Saranguiyeolmae Sharing Volunteer Group was recognized for the value of its community sharing activities by receiving the highest honor, the ‘Meritorious Service Medal,’ at the 12th ‘Donors’ Value Night.’

This award ceremony, hosted by the Community Chest of Korea, was organized to encourage donors and volunteers who have taken the lead in spreading a culture of sharing and practicing neighborly love.

The Yeongdeok County Saranguiyeolmae Sharing Volunteer Group was selected for the award in recognition of its ongoing efforts since its founding in 2012, including supporting vulnerable groups in the region, discovering regular donors, and addressing welfare blind spots through a variety of sharing activities.

In particular, the group has taken the lead in discovering Good Stores, Good Families, and Good Workplaces that donate a fixed amount each month, and has delivered warmth to the local community through annual events such as the ‘Hope Sharing Campaign’ and ‘Santa of November.’

Group leader Cha Gwangmyeong stated, “This award is the result of all our members sharing warmth with our neighbors as one for the past 14 years,” adding, “We will continue our efforts to look after those in need first and enable more residents to participate in sharing.”
