Pusan National University Achieves Grand Prize and Excellence Award at RISE Project Competition

Proposal for AI-Based Financial Support Service for the Vulnerable
Spotlight on International Students' Work Experience Stories

Pusan National University (President Choi Jaewon) presented a model for mutual growth with the local community by sweeping the Grand Prize (Minister of Education Award) and the Excellence Award at the RISE (Regional Innovation-centered University Support System) Project University (Graduate) Student Best Practice Competition.


On October 29, at the "2025 RISE Project Participating University (Graduate) Student Best Practice Competition" held at EXCO in Daegu, the "Cheotnun" team (students Sung Minki, Sung Dobeom, and Song Siu) from the Department of Information and Computer Engineering won the Grand Prize with their project, "A Digital Financial Activity Support Service for the Financially Vulnerable Using Artificial Intelligence Technology."

This team proposed a customized financial support service utilizing AI technology for vulnerable groups with low financial accessibility, and was highly praised for presenting an innovative problem-solving model that reflects local industry needs.


Additionally, Selgeren Sullongger (from Mongolia), a student from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, received the Excellence Award in the "Foreign Students' Work Experience Stories" category. Under the theme "Believing in Yourself," he sincerely shared his field training and work experience at a local company, demonstrating that Pusan National University provides substantial industry-linked opportunities for international students as well.


This competition was hosted by the Ministry of Education and organized by the National Research Foundation of Korea. It was established to allow students from universities participating in the RISE project nationwide to share their activities and expand achievements under the theme of "Regional Innovation and Industry Linkage."


Park Sanghoo, Director of the RISE Project Group at Pusan National University (Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering), stated, "Pusan National University's outstanding RISE cases are exemplary success models where students' creative ideas lead to regional industrial development," adding, "We will continue to support the university-centered innovation ecosystem so that it can spread nationwide and throughout the industrial sector."
