Yangpyeong County in Gyeonggi Province (Governor Jeon Jinseon) announced on October 29 that, with the compensation procedures for the Gangha-Gangsang Road Construction Project on Local Road No. 88 entering full swing, appraisal assessments and compensation payments will soon be carried out.
The total area of land to be incorporated into the project is approximately 132,263 square meters. The Gyeonggi Province Construction Headquarters, which is overseeing the project, has sent out compensation plan notices to landowners outlining the details of the compensation procedures.
This marks the first step in the compensation process. Moving forward, land compensation will be conducted through procedures such as establishing a compensation council, conducting appraisal assessments, and requesting negotiations.
Jeon Jinseon, Governor of Yangpyeong County, stated, "With the compensation procedures for the long-awaited four-lane expansion of Local Road No. 88 now officially underway, we are one step closer to breaking ground. Yangpyeong County will work closely with the Gyeonggi Province Construction Headquarters to do our utmost to ensure an early start to construction."
Meanwhile, the Local Road No. 88 expansion project aims to widen the existing 6.3-kilometer, two-lane section from Gangha-myeon to Gangsang-myeon to four lanes. This project is being pursued to alleviate chronic congestion caused by steadily increasing traffic volumes. The goal is to begin construction in the first half of 2027, and for inquiries regarding compensation, individuals can contact the Korea Real Estate Board, which has been entrusted with handling these matters.
