New Nexo to Launch in Japan in the First Half of Next Year
Hyundai Motor Company is strengthening its brand competitiveness by showcasing its hydrogen and electrification technologies in the Japanese market.
On October 29 (local time), Hyundai Motor Company participated for the first time in the Japan Mobility Show 2025, held at Tokyo Big Sight, where it unveiled the new Nexo hydrogen electric vehicle to the Japanese market for the first time. Hyundai Motor Company plans to launch the new Nexo in Japan in the first half of next year.
At this event, Hyundai Motor Company aims to reinforce its brand competitiveness by promoting its hydrogen technology heritage and the Nexo in the Japanese market, highlighting its leadership in hydrogen technology.
During the media presentation, Hyundai Motor Company introduced the process of developing its hydrogen technology under the theme, "A Future Driven by Steady and Bold Challenges."
Additionally, Hyundai Motor Company organized its exhibition into zones themed around hydrogen, electric vehicles (EVs), and the Insterroid, and prepared a variety of interactive experiences for visitors.
The "Hydrogen Zone" features content that explains the main product features of the new Nexo along with its fuel cell stack, enhancing visitors' understanding. It also presents Hyundai Motor Company's history in hydrogen technology development and introduces its hydrogen business brand, HTWO.
The "EV Zone" showcases the technology of Hyundai Motor Group's dedicated electric vehicle platform E-GMP, highlights the global awards received by the Ioniq 5, and introduces the next-generation CHAdeMO 1000V fast charging technology from Japanese EV charging infrastructure company e-Mobility Power. In addition, Japanese customers who own Hyundai Motor Company EVs will serve as docents, sharing their honest experiences with visitors.
In the "Insterroid Zone," Hyundai Motor Company is exhibiting both the Insterroid concept car and the Inster Cross. The Insterroid is a project model inspired by gaming, featuring a unique design and a variety of playful elements, demonstrating the potential for the Inster's future development.
Through the Insterroid, which is based on the Inster and features an expanded and wider body, wing spoiler, and wheel arch air flaps to emphasize a dynamic image, Hyundai Motor Company is expressing its commitment to leading the era of future mobility in the Japanese market through innovative challenges.
