Koscom Receives Presidential Citation on Financial Day: "Leading the Way in Financial Fraud Relief"

Commemorating "Financial Day" Organized by the Financial Services Commission

Koscom announced on the 29th that it had received a Presidential Citation in recognition of its contributions to preventing financial fraud and protecting financial consumers.

At the 10th Financial Day commemorative event, organized by the Financial Services Commission the previous day, Lee Kangbin, Deputy Head of Financial Operations at Koscom, was awarded the Presidential Citation in the Financial Development (Inclusive Finance) category.

Financial Day, held annually on the last Tuesday of October, is a legally designated commemorative day aimed at raising public awareness of finance and encouraging organizations or individuals who have contributed to financial development.

Since 2015, Deputy Head Lee Kangbin has led the establishment and operation of an integrated call center for the suspension of payments from accounts involved in financial fraud. He also spearheaded the creation of a 24/7 uninterrupted response system, even during weekday nights and weekends, through collaboration with the Financial Supervisory Service and commercial banks.

Since 2023, he has developed and operated the Integrated Call Center for Bulk Suspension of Personal Accounts, expanding the number of participating financial institutions to 30 and significantly increasing both the speed and scope of relief for financial fraud victims. Additionally, he rapidly implemented systems linking face-to-face fraud types such as voice phishing and simplified remittance services among prepaid operators, further enhancing the fraud response framework.

Deputy Head Lee's ongoing efforts to improve these systems were highly praised for minimizing financial fraud damage and advancing inclusive finance.
