SMEs Ministry Launches Digital Onnuri Gift Certificate Cashback Event: "Up to 15%"

Consumer Promotion Events Linked to the Korea Grand Festival
Lottery Entries for Every 50,000 Won Spent at Traditional Markets
Up to 15% Cashback on Non-Metropolitan Spending... Total Benefits of 2 Billion Won

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on October 29 that, as part of the nationwide large-scale consumer festival 'Korea Grand Festival,' it will launch the Win-Win Consumption Lottery event and a Digital Onnuri Gift Certificate cashback campaign.

The Win-Win Consumption Lottery is a linked event to the Win-Win Payback program and will be available from today until November 9. The lottery is based on the total amount spent via card payments at traditional markets and small business stores. For every 50,000 won spent during the event period, participants receive one entry, up to a maximum of 10 entries for 500,000 won in spending. Prizes will be awarded in the form of Digital Onnuri Gift Certificates, with benefits totaling 2 billion won distributed to 5,000 winners.

The second round of the Win-Win Consumption Lottery aims to boost consumption outside the Seoul metropolitan area by selecting first-prize winners from applicants who have card spending records in non-metropolitan regions. Even residents of the metropolitan area can win first prize if they spend at least 50,000 won via card at traditional markets or small business stores in non-metropolitan regions during the event period. Winners of second to fourth prizes will be selected based on nationwide card spending, regardless of region.

Participants only need to apply once through the Win-Win Payback website to be automatically entered into the lottery. The application period runs until November 9. Any card spending during the event period will be recognized, regardless of when the application is submitted within this period. Winners will be announced in December.

The Digital Onnuri Gift Certificate cashback campaign will also take place during the same period. Consumers who pay with Digital Onnuri Gift Certificates will receive 5% to 15% of their cumulative spending refunded in the same form of gift certificate.

The cashback rates are 5% for the metropolitan area, 10% for non-metropolitan areas, and 15% for 101 designated special disaster and rural population-decline areas. The cashback limits are 10,000 won for the metropolitan area, 15,000 won for non-metropolitan areas, and 20,000 won for special areas. The minimum spending required for cashback is 20,000 won in the metropolitan area, 10,000 won in non-metropolitan areas, and 6,667 won in special areas. Cashback will be paid automatically and sequentially from November 20 onwards without the need for a separate application.

However, spending made with Digital Onnuri Gift Certificates received through the Win-Win Payback program will not count toward this cashback event. Cashback amounts for the metropolitan area, non-metropolitan areas, and special areas will be calculated separately, and if a participant has spending records in more than one region, duplicate cashback is possible. If the minimum spending requirement for each category is not met, cashback will not be provided.
