Daejeon City to Provide Up to 300,000 Won in Rent Support for Small Businesses

The Daejeon City Government will provide up to 300,000 won per business to help ease the rent burden, which small business owners cite as their greatest management challenge.

This rent support program will be implemented in the second half of the year, following the same initiative in the first half.

As in the first half, up to 300,000 won per business will be provided in the second half, and small business owners who have already received support are eligible to reapply.

Applications will be accepted online from November 3 to 21. Eligible applicants are small business owners who have been operating a leased business in Daejeon for at least one year as of the announcement date, with annual sales of less than 80 million won.

The city will conduct an eligibility review of the submitted documents and select recipients in order of lowest sales. The support funds are scheduled to be distributed in December.

Meanwhile, since last year, Daejeon City has been running the largest rent support program for small businesses in the country, with more than 10,000 small businesses having received benefits as of the first half of this year.

Kwon Kyungmin, Director of Economic Affairs at Daejeon City, said, “We hope this rent support will provide some relief to small business owners struggling with management difficulties. Next year, we will continue to implement practical policies that provide real support to small businesses.”
