Free Legal Counseling Session to Be Held
at Gyo 1-dong Community Center in Gangneung
on November 3
Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Kim Jin-tae) announced that it will operate a "Mobile Free Legal Counseling Service for Jeonse Fraud Victims" in the Yeongdong region, following its first operation in Wonju in April, to protect the property rights of victims of jeonse fraud and support their relief.
The counseling service for jeonse fraud victims in the Yeongdong region will be available at the Gyo 1-dong Community Center in Gangneung City at 1:30 p.m. on November 3 (Monday).
This counseling session will be attended by professional organizations such as the Korea Legal Aid Corporation, the Gangwon Bar Association, and the Korea Association of Realtors. They will provide guidance on procedures for filing a jeonse deposit refund lawsuit, how to claim preferential purchase rights, and the process for determining jeonse fraud damages. In addition, practical support measures such as financial assistance (low-interest loans for purchase and jeonse funds), tax benefits, and emergency welfare and housing support systems will also be introduced.
Bringing relevant documents such as the lease contract (including proof of fixed date), resident registration abstract, and a certified copy of the building register will allow for more accurate counseling.
Residents of Donghae City who wish to receive counseling can pre-register through the Architecture Division of Donghae City by October 31 (Friday).
Kim Heon-su, Head of the Architecture Division, stated, "We will continue promotional activities to prevent jeonse fraud in order to create a stable residential environment for tenants."
