Evolving into a Resale Platform for Both Selling and Buying
Quality Assurance Through Inspection, Laundering, and Refurbishment
The used clothing purchase service 'NEWOFF' announced on October 29 that it has officially launched its secondhand clothing commerce platform. The app has evolved into a specialized resale platform where users can both sell and purchase used clothing.
NEWOFF is a recommerce startup that collects unused clothes, inspects and refurbishes them, and then resells them. Since officially launching its used clothing purchase app in June, the company has rapidly gained 10,000 subscribers in a short period and has quickly expanded its purchase service nationwide. In July, NEWOFF secured seed investment from FuturePlay, earning recognition for its technological capabilities and market potential.
With the launch of this platform, users can now not only sell their clothes through the NEWOFF app but also shop for quality-assured secondhand clothing that has undergone thorough inspection and refurbishment, making it feel like new. All clothing items are authenticated and inspected for condition by a professional inspection team, and are then sanitized and laundered before being listed for sale. In addition, free shipping and returns services have been introduced to ensure users can purchase secondhand clothing conveniently and safely.
In particular, the company has focused on addressing the quality concerns and trust issues that frequently occur on existing secondhand trading platforms. By utilizing a proprietary purchase price algorithm and inspection data from over 100,000 items, NEWOFF precisely evaluates the value of each piece of clothing to offer reasonable purchase prices. This provides a more reliable alternative compared to the uncertainties of peer-to-peer transactions.
Yoon Hyojun, CEO of NEWOFF, stated, "Many consumers buy used clothing through peer-to-peer transactions, but often end up disappointed due to low trust in quality. With the launch of this commerce platform, we aim to break the stereotypes about secondhand clothing and demonstrate that 'used clothes can be a better choice than new ones.'"
