Suwon City Improves Tax Collection After Introducing Mobile Electronic Notification Service Last Year

Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province has seen a significant increase in tax collections since introducing its mobile electronic notification service in November last year.

On October 29, Suwon City announced that the collection rate for property tax within the payment period in September reached 93.9%, up 2.4 percentage points from the previous year’s rate of 91.5%. The total amount collected was 186.5 billion won, an increase of 13.3 billion won compared to the previous year’s 173.2 billion won.

The city believes that the introduction of the "mobile electronic notification system" has improved the on-time collection rate of regular local taxes.
