Police have requested arrest warrants for two men accused of attempting to kidnap and murder a well-known YouTuber in the underground parking lot of an apartment complex in Incheon.
On October 28, Incheon Yeonsu Police Station announced that it had applied for arrest warrants on charges of attempted murder for two men in their 20s and 30s, including Mr. A, who were apprehended on suspicion of joint unlawful confinement and other offenses.
Mr. A and his accomplice are accused of kidnapping a male YouTuber in his 30s, identified as Mr. B, and attempting to kill him by repeatedly striking him with a blunt object after abducting him to a vehicle in the underground parking lot of an apartment in Songdo-dong, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, at around 10:40 p.m. on October 26.
According to the police investigation, the suspects lured Mr. B to the parking lot of his residence by offering him money, then forced him into a vehicle and drove him approximately 200 kilometers to Geumsan County, South Chungcheong Province.
Just before meeting Mr. A and his group, Mr. B reported to the police that he felt his life was in danger. Responding to the report, police tracked the vehicle using closed-circuit (CC) TV footage and apprehended Mr. A and his group in South Chungcheong Province at around 2:40 a.m. the following day in the act.
Mr. B suffered serious injuries to his face due to severe assault, but his life is not in danger, according to reports.
Mr. B is said to be a famous gaming YouTuber with over 1 million subscribers.
In a statement to the police, Mr. B said that he was supposed to receive money from Mr. A and his group.
