A total of 43 couples were formed this year through "Sejong Connection," a matchmaking event for single men and women in Sejong City. This result was achieved after six sessions of the "Sejong Connection" event, held in cooperation with the Sejong Youth Center from June to October this year, with a total of 240 participants.

The event was organized for unmarried men and women who either reside or work in Sejong City, aiming to foster a healthy dating culture and prevent social isolation among young adults. In response to the high interest among singles, the city expanded the scale of the event from 80 participants last year to 240 this year-tripling the number-and increased the number of sessions from two to six.

This year, 1,360 people applied to participate, resulting in an average competition rate of 5.6 to 1. The event also contributed to revitalizing the local commercial district by utilizing vacant spaces and cultural facilities, such as cafes in shopping areas.

One participant shared, "It was beneficial to have an opportunity for natural conversation," "I appreciated the local government supporting young people in forming relationships," and "I would like to participate again."

Lee Youngok, Director of the Health and Welfare Bureau, said, "Reflecting the enthusiastic response from young people to this year's event, we will continue to provide opportunities for singles to meet next year as well," adding, "We hope many citizens will show interest in and participate in the Sejong Connection event, which enables exchanges among peers."

The city plans to expand public-private cooperation to provide more opportunities for singles to meet. Private companies and organizations interested in participating can contact the Population, Women and Family Division at Sejong City Hall.
