In particular, key solutions mentioned included streamlining the distribution of food ingredients, utilizing food technology, expanding the employment of foreign workers, and creating local demand for dining out. The participants reached a consensus that cooperation among the government, local governments, and those on the ground is necessary to overcome the structural crisis facing the food service industry.

Jeong Dooseok, Director General of Economy at Gyeonggi Province, stated, "The food service industry is a key sector that supports the daily lives of ordinary people and the local economy, but it is currently facing very difficult circumstances. Through this consultation, Gyeonggi Province and the Bank of Korea Gyeonggi Headquarters will review practical policies to help restore the livelihood economy."

Based on this discussion, Gyeonggi Province plans to strengthen its efforts to revitalize local commercial districts by reducing the management burden on the food service industry and small business owners, linking existing initiatives such as the "Gyeonggi Big Sale" event, the nation's first operating expense card for small business owners called "The HimnaeGO Card," and the operation of a "public delivery app" to reduce commission fees for small businesses.

The policy consultation meeting is being operated in accordance with the business agreement signed between Gyeonggi Province and the Bank of Korea Gyeonggi Headquarters in 2022.
