Hwasun County Launches On-Site Motorcycle Inspection Service

Scheduled for November 3-7
"Resolving Inconvenience for Residents"

Hwasun County in South Jeolla Province, in cooperation with the Korea Transportation Safety Authority, will implement an on-site motorcycle inspection service.

According to the county on October 28, this on-site motorcycle inspection service was launched to address the inconvenience faced by residents due to the absence of motorcycle inspection facilities in the region.

The service is available for medium and small motorcycles with engine displacements between 50cc and 260cc that were manufactured or registered after January 1, 2018. The inspection period will run from November 3 to November 7.

Notably, starting this year, inspection items have been expanded beyond the existing environmental checks to include braking systems and lighting devices. Therefore, if defects are found in lighting devices such as headlights or turn signals, a re-inspection will be required, so owners are advised to check their vehicles in advance.

The on-site inspections will be held at the Dogok-myeon Administrative Welfare Center on November 3, the Hwasun Dolmen Traditional Market performance hall on November 4, the Cheongpung-myeon Administrative Welfare Center in the morning of November 5, the Chunyang-myeon Administrative Welfare Center in the afternoon of November 5, the Dong-myeon Administrative Welfare Center in the morning of November 6, and the Dongbok-myeon Administrative Welfare Center in the afternoon of November 6. On November 7, inspections will be conducted in additional areas where needed.

Applicants for the on-site inspection must bring their motorcycle registration certificate, proof of insurance, and a 30,000 won inspection fee. For more details regarding the on-site inspection, please contact the Vehicle Registration Team at the county office.

Kim Sunseung, Head of the Civil Affairs and Welfare Division, stated, "This on-site inspection service was arranged so that owners of medium and small motorcycles in towns and villages without inspection agencies can conveniently receive inspections without having to travel long distances. We ask for the active participation and cooperation of our residents."
