The Gyeongbuk Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Jongshik) will conduct safety inspections at 74 examination sites in 8 test districts across Gyeongbuk until October 31, ahead of the 2026 College Scholastic Ability Test scheduled for Thursday, November 13.
This inspection aims to identify and address potential hazards inside and outside the test sites in advance, ensuring that test-takers can take the exam in a safe and stable environment.
The Gyeongbuk Office of Education has conducted safety inspections at 74 examination sites ahead of the College Scholastic Ability Test.
The inspections will be carried out through a combination of self-inspections by each school and joint verification inspections conducted by the local education support offices and the Gyeongbuk Office of Education.
The main areas of inspection include earthquakes, fire safety, outdoor facilities, disaster recovery, public address systems, and preparedness for cold waves.
In particular, the inspections will focus on ensuring that the public address systems are fully operational to facilitate smooth evacuation in the event of an emergency during the exam. Inspectors will also thoroughly check for any safety blind spots, such as the presence of obstacles in evacuation routes.
Schools completed their self-inspections by October 24, and the joint verification inspections by the education support offices and the Gyeongbuk Office of Education will be completed by October 31. Minor issues identified during the inspections will be addressed immediately on site, while any major risks will prompt emergency repairs, reinforcement, or even a change of test site if necessary.
Lim Jongshik, Superintendent of the Gyeongbuk Office of Education, stated, "We will thoroughly inspect the safety of all test sites so that test-takers can focus solely on the exam," and added, "Even the smallest risk factors will be addressed immediately to create a perfect test environment."
