Hana Financial Group announced on October 28 that it held an opening ceremony for the side dish lunchbox manufacturing facility "Happiness Filling One Meal: Damda" in collaboration with Gwangsan District of Gwangju Metropolitan City to create job opportunities for seniors.

This project is an example of a local government and a private financial company working together to establish a customized welfare infrastructure for the local community. Gwangsan District provided the space, and Hana Financial Group built the cooking facilities needed to produce side dish lunchboxes. Starting with Gwangsan District in Gwangju, Hana Financial Group plans to expand the "Senior Job-Linked Local Community Co-Growth Project" to other regions such as Busan and Incheon.

Through this initiative, Hana Financial Group will hire local seniors who are willing to work for processes such as cooking, packing, and delivering lunchboxes, thereby creating jobs. The company also plans to support approximately 350 households of vulnerable youth and elderly living alone by providing lunchboxes, contributing to healthier eating habits for both young people and seniors.

In particular, the company prioritized sourcing ingredients for the side dishes from local agricultural and fisheries markets and small business stores, thereby promoting a virtuous cycle in the local economy. In the future, the company plans to sell side dish, soup, and salad lunchboxes at affordable prices to local residents, ensuring the sustainability of the senior job creation program.

Woosungkoo, Deputy Head of Honam Sales Group at Hana Bank, stated, "This project is a customized welfare initiative for the region that is expected to have a triple effect: creating jobs for seniors, supporting vulnerable groups, and revitalizing the local economy. Hana Financial Group will continue to actively practice inclusive finance to support stable economic activity and social participation for the senior generation."

Meanwhile, Hana Financial Group is leading the creation of sustainable social value through various inclusive finance activities, such as "Hana Power On Second Life" to support reemployment and entrepreneurship for seniors and middle-aged people, "Hana Power On Innovation Company Internship" for social innovation companies, women with career experience, and new seniors, providing lightweight carts and safety kits for elderly waste collectors, and digital financial education programs for seniors.
