The "Gangwon Trip Writers Group" is part of the "Y(plaY)" area within the G-STAY support system operated by the Regional Settlement Support Center at Hallym University. This talent development program aims to realize the enjoyment and happiness of settling in Gangwon Province.

This program is jointly operated with the Gangwon Tourism Organization and is centered on the core value of "regional joint talent development linked to the Gangwon tourism industry," in line with the industry's growth and changing job landscape. Hallym University students and local residents participate together, and through six weeks of training and a two-day, one-night field practicum, they will directly experience and document Gangwon as "Gangwon travel writers."

For the first week's lecture, Won Moonkyu, Director at the Gangwon Tourism Organization, gave a talk on "Gangwon Tourism Trends." Director Won emphasized that the Gangwon Trip Writers Group will play an important role as tourism ambassadors for Gangwon. The Regional Settlement Support Center also provided an introduction to the program and a networking session, allowing participants to freely exchange opinions and wrap up the event with a Q&A session.

Participants shared their thoughts, saying, "Even after traveling, I often regretted not being able to properly express or record my experiences, but through this opportunity, I want to capture stories from Gangwon and share them with many people," and "I want to travel around Gangwon with local residents, document various stories, and fulfill my role as a tourism ambassador for Gangwon."

Sung Siil, Director of the Regional Settlement Support Center, stated, "The Gangwon Trip Writers Group is a Gangwon-style talent development model in which universities, public institutions, and citizens participate together. We will collaborate with the Gangwon Tourism Organization to create a joint educational ecosystem that encompasses students' career development, local residents' job transitions, and the enhancement of expertise for current professionals."

Meanwhile, the Regional Settlement Support Center plans to formalize its partnership with the Gangwon Tourism Organization through this program and aims to become a leading model for cultivating tourism professionals in Gangwon by providing various tourism and cultural content education linked to the "2025-2026 Visit Gangwon Years."
