This event was designed to enhance parents' understanding of education policies and strengthen communication. It was broadcast live through the EBSi YouTube channel, allowing participation from anywhere in the country.
During the event, Kwak Myungcheol, a researcher from the Ministry of Education's Parent Policy Division, explained the government's reading education policy under the theme "Reading Education for Parents." Following this, Yoo Dongchun, a supervisor from the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education's Reading and Humanities Education Team, presented the operation case of the Jeonnam Reading and Humanities School and shared practical strategies tailored to the region's characteristics.
In particular, comedian-turned-writer Myunghwan Ko delivered a special lecture titled "Classics Answered," humorously addressing self-reflection and life changes through books, which resonated strongly with the parents.
In the subsequent talk concert, Kwak Myungcheol, Yoo Dongchun, and Myunghwan Ko participated as panelists, freely exchanging opinions on the direction of reading and humanities education and practical approaches at home.
Superintendent Kim Daejung stated, "Jeonnam's reading and humanities education is a core educational philosophy that helps students develop the ability to ask questions and think independently through books. I hope that classes focusing on reading, discussion, and writing will become established in schools, and that parents will also participate actively at home."
Meanwhile, the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education plans to continue the "Visiting Education Policy Service" on various topics to maintain ongoing communication with parents.
