This briefing was held in conjunction with the final report meeting of the 'Study on the Discovery and Promotion Plan of Future Strategic Industries in Namyangju City.'
Approximately 30 participants, including Mayor Joo Gwangdeok, city officials, and representatives from the research service provider, attended the event to share the direction and implementation plan for corporate attraction and to engage in in-depth discussions on key strategic initiatives.
The '2030 Corporate Attraction Master Plan' announced by the city is centered on three major strategies-△Establishment of Industrial Complex Infrastructure (BASE), △Promotion of Tailored Corporate Attraction (BRING), and △Creation of a Sustainable Ecosystem (BOOST)-and ten core tasks.
First, during the infrastructure establishment phase (BASE-UP, 2026-2027), the city will complete administrative procedures for the Wangsuk Urban High-Tech Industrial Complex and hold briefings to attract AI-specialized industries, thereby launching full-scale preparatory efforts.
From 2028 to 2029, the focus will shift to the corporate attraction phase (BRING-UP), during which the city plans to establish an all-encompassing support system for the creation of urban-type industrial complexes and the attraction of targeted companies, as well as to sign strategic MOUs.
Finally, starting in 2030, the city will enter the industrial settlement and expansion phase (BOOST-UP), aiming to create an AI-converged innovation ecosystem and startup innovation spaces, and to establish industry support institutions to complete a self-sustaining industrial ecosystem.
Based on the results of the research service also presented at the event, the city plans to focus on fostering ten strategic industries-including smart mobility, semiconductors, and AI-and to transform low-efficiency industrial structures into high value-added industries, thereby establishing itself as an industrial city sought after by advanced companies.

Mayor Joo Gwangdeok of Namyangju City emphasized, "This briefing marks the starting point for a major transformation of Namyangju's industrial ecosystem and will serve as a cornerstone for our leap toward becoming a future self-sustaining mega-city with a population of one million. We will faithfully implement the Corporate Attraction Master Plan to become a city that companies seek out first and an advanced, self-sustaining economic city overflowing with jobs."
Having declared 2025 as the inaugural year of industrial ecosystem transformation, the city is rapidly emerging as a new investment hub attracting the attention of future advanced companies, having successfully attracted Woori Financial Group's Digital Universe (KRW 550 billion) in December last year and Kakao's Digital Hub (KRW 600 billion) in June this year.
