Hwasun County Accepts Additional Applications for "Slate Disposal Support Project"

Applications Accepted Until November 28
"Protecting Residents' Health and Improving Living Conditions"

Hwasun County in South Jeolla Province will accept additional applications for the remaining quota of the "2025 Slate Disposal Support Project."

According to the county on the 27th, this support project has been established to protect the health of residents from aging slate and to create a safe residential environment. The additional application period targets the disposal of slate from both residential and non-residential buildings, including livestock barns, warehouses, and facilities for the elderly and children.

Applications can be submitted at the township and town administrative welfare centers until November 28.

For residential buildings, support is provided up to 7 million won (full coverage for priority households). For non-residential buildings such as warehouses, livestock barns, and facilities for the elderly and children, support is available for slate areas up to 200 square meters per building. If the support limit is exceeded, applicants must cover the additional costs themselves.

No Samsook, head of the Environmental Division, stated, "Asbestos contained in slate is directly related to the health of residents and environmental protection. We hope that more residents can benefit from slate disposal through the remaining budget, and we encourage active interest and applications."
