KENTECH Achieves 576.7 Million Won in Research Funding Per Full-Time Faculty Member

Ranked Third Nationwide for Two Consecutive Years

Korea Energy Engineering University (KENTECH) announced on October 27 that it ranked third nationwide in research funding per full-time faculty member among 197 universities in Korea last year. Achieving third place for two consecutive years in its fourth year since establishment, the university has demonstrated a rapid expansion of its research foundation in a short period of time.

According to the university information disclosure, last year, KENTECH’s research funding per full-time faculty member was 576.7 million won, ranking third after Pohang University of Science and Technology (827.59 million won) and Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (665.29 million won). This figure represents an increase of approximately 11.2% compared to the previous year (518.01 million won), showing that the university’s research capability has been steadily growing despite being in its early stages.

Research funding per full-time faculty member is a key indicator for objectively assessing a university’s research capability and sustainability. High levels of funding secured provide a stable and continuous foundation for faculty and researchers to carry out their research activities.

KENTECH is steadily expanding government and industry research projects in future energy core fields such as energy materials, next-generation grids, hydrogen energy, environmental and climate technology, energy AI, and nuclear energy. At the same time, the university is accelerating the creation of a collaborative research ecosystem among industry, academia, and research institutes.
