Dongducheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced on October 27 that it will host the "1st DDC Youth Startup Expo" at the outdoor plaza of the Dongducheon City Complex Community Center on November 8. The event aims to share the creative challenges and achievements of young people with the public and to revitalize the local startup ecosystem.
The expo is organized by the Dongducheon Youth Startup Support Center and will feature more than 30 booths, including resident companies, local startups, university startup clubs, and youth flea markets. It is expected to provide practical information and opportunities for networking to young people preparing for entrepreneurship.
The event will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with the opening ceremony scheduled for 2:00 p.m. The program will begin with a pre-ceremony performance at 1:40 p.m., followed by an awards ceremony for the Local Idea Contest and a screening of promotional videos for resident companies.
At the expo, a variety of programs will be offered, including booths for promoting and selling products by youth startups, a youth flea market, exhibitions by university startup clubs in the area, experience booths (tarot readings, personal color analysis), and events such as a stamp tour and a roulette event. In particular, local young entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to introduce their products and interact directly with citizens, making the expo a festival where youth and the community come together.
Park Hyungdeok, Mayor of Dongducheon, stated, "This expo goes beyond a simple exhibition and will serve as an opportunity for the region and its youth to grow together. I hope that the passion of young people and the interest of citizens will help Dongducheon establish itself as a central city for youth entrepreneurship."
