This inspection was conducted to review the overall progress of each project and, in particular, to gather feedback from relevant departments regarding the selection of the relocation site for the Memorial Tower.
The plan for Soyonaeum Park is currently being developed to create a commemorative and relaxation space in connection with the Freedom Protection Peace Museum. Soyobyeol Forest Theme Park Azalea Hill is currently 60% complete, with plans to install a photo zone and landscape lighting in November and complete construction in early December. The Soyosan Sports Park Disaster Prevention Project is 75% complete, with completion targeted for November.
During his site visit, Mayor Park stated, "The development projects in the Soyosan area for citizens’ leisure and relaxation are key to enhancing Dongducheon’s tourism and cultural competitiveness. We will focus the city’s resources so that the Soyosan area can become a leading tourist destination in the metropolitan area. In addition, the relocation and site selection for the Memorial Tower will be carried out with careful consideration of citizens’ sentiments, accessibility, and symbolism."
The city plans to strengthen regular inspections of major project sites, continuously monitor safety management and progress, and deliver results that citizens can truly experience.
