L&F Unveils NCM-LFP Two-Track Strategy at 'DIFA 2025'

Showcasing LFP Cathode Materials on Par with Third-Generation Chinese Products

Global secondary battery materials specialist L&F successfully concluded the '2025 Daegu International Future Auto & Mobility Expo (DIFA 2025)', held from October 22 to 25 at EXCO in Daegu. At this exhibition, L&F showcased its Nickel Cobalt Manganese (NCM) and Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) cathode material technologies, its vision for a sustainable battery industry, and its philosophy of growing together with the local community, drawing the attention of industry professionals and visitors alike.

Under the theme of 'Leading the Future', L&F presented its competitive edge in cathode material technology and its vision for a circular economy. In particular, the company highlighted its LFP cathode materials, which offer compression density and price competitiveness on par with third-generation Chinese products. L&F also unveiled the history of its cathode material development and its mid- to long-term mass production roadmap, introducing its 'NCM-LFP two-track strategy' that covers everything from premium electric vehicles (EVs) to mass-market EVs and energy storage systems (ESS).

In addition, L&F exhibited next-generation cathode material samples such as All-Solid-State Battery (ASSB), Sodium-Ion Battery (SIB), and Lithium Manganese Rich (LMR), demonstrating its portfolio of next-generation materials. The company also introduced its unique circular economy ecosystem model, which spans from precursor supply to battery recycling, in collaboration with affiliates such as LS-L&F Battery Solution (LLBS), thereby clarifying its direction for building a sustainable value chain.

L&F also actively leveraged this exhibition as a platform for nurturing local talent and spreading a participatory organizational culture among employees. The company conducted two educational programs for about 20 university students from the Daegu region, focusing on the secondary battery industry and cathode material education, as part of its industry-academia talent development efforts. In addition, it organized booth tours, interactive exhibitions, and quiz events with the participation of employees' families, providing an opportunity for direct engagement with the company's technology and vision.

During the exhibition, the 'Secondary Battery Circular Economy Ecosystem Forum' was also held, where Choi Youngryul, Head of Business Development at L&F, delivered a keynote speech proposing a new paradigm: shifting from a 'Value Chain' to a 'Value Web.' He emphasized that "the essence of competition now lies not in product manufacturing, but in the ability to design ecosystems," and highlighted the need to establish collaborative systems for sharing data and resources among companies.

Choi Suan, CEO of L&F, stated, "Through this exhibition, our technological capabilities in a variety of battery materials, including LFP cathode materials, have been recognized externally," adding, "We will overcome industry challenges and create new growth opportunities based on our proprietary technological innovation and production capacity."
