"Connect with Children Through Picture Books" Siheung Book Culture Festival to Be Held on November 1

Held at Jungang Park in Jeongwang-dong and Siheung City Central Library

Siheung City in Gyeonggi Province will host the 11th Siheung Book Culture Festival on November 1 at Jungang Park in Jeongwang-dong and Siheung City Central Library.

This year's festival, held under the theme "Drawing Today, Capturing It in Books" to mark the "Year of Picture Books," will feature a variety of programs that allow everyone from children to adults to connect and enjoy through picture books.

The festival will include a book talk between author Baek Yuyeon and host Lee Ruri. Baek, author of "Dongbaek Steamed Bun" and "Cherry Blossom Popcorn," will discuss the stories of life contained within picture books and the power that picture books hold.

Kim Joungho, author of the picture book "It's Nice to Be Out," will present a live drawing show with children, illustrating a scene from the book on a large canvas cloth.

The event will also offer a variety of picture book-themed attractions, including a picture book art museum with a docent, a cheering contest for picture book authors, and a picture book playground. Additional programs include a 360-degree rotating photo zone, free drawing sessions, and a picture book experience center linked to various post-reading activities.
