NCSoft Considering Changing Company Name to "NC"

NCSoft is considering changing its company name to "NC."

An NCSoft representative stated on the 26th, "We are internally reviewing the process of changing the company name."

The new name "NC" is reportedly the leading candidate. This move is seen as an effort to unify the brand with its public interest corporation, NC Culture Foundation, as well as subsidiaries such as NC AI, NC QA, and NC IDS, and overseas entities including NC America, NC West, and NC Japan.

NCSoft has maintained its current name since its founding in 1997. However, the company has continued discussions, recognizing the need to establish a new brand identity (BI) aimed at the global market. In 2020, it also unveiled a new corporate image (CI) that emphasized "NC" and dropped "Soft."

If the name change proposal is finalized, it is expected to be formally submitted as an agenda item at the regular shareholders' meeting scheduled for early next year.
