The book launch event for "Tomorrow is Namgu," which highlights the legislative achievements and personal life of Hwang Kyunga, a Gwangju Namgu District Council member aiming to become the first female head of a local government in Gwangju in next June's nationwide local elections, concluded successfully with strong support from many attendees.

On the 25th, approximately 5,000 people, including Gwangju Mayor Kang Gijung, Democratic Party lawmakers Yang Bunam (Gwangju Seo-gu Eul), Jung Jinwook (Gwangju Dongnam-gap), Park Kyuntaek (Gwangju Gwangsan-gap), Min Hyungbae (Gwangju Gwangsan-eul), Jung Junho (Gwangju Buk-gu-gap), Moon Geumju (Goheung, Boseong, Jangheung, Gangjin in South Jeolla), members of the Gwangju Namgu District Council, heads and representatives of local organizations, and residents, attended the "Kyunga Hwang's Tomorrow is Namgu" book launch held at the first floor auditorium of Hosimgwan at Gwangju University.

Assemblywoman Hwang's new book is divided into eight sections: "That Winter's Story," which recounts events following the declaration of martial law last year; "Namgu's New Strength! Hwang Kyunga" and "Fulfilling My Duty as the Speaker of the 9th Namgu Council," which reflect on her service as a member of the 7th to 9th Namgu District Councils; "Media Interview Excerpts," which emphasize her achievements in leading cooperative governance and local autonomy; "2025 Our Namgu Village Agendas by District," which covers village agendas for each district; "Kyunga Hwang's Time Travel on Foot through Namgu," which shares her reflections while walking through Namgu; and "Tomorrow is Namgu," which traces her journey from childhood to becoming a politician.

Her life journey, political philosophy, and vision are all encapsulated in this single volume.

The book launch event began with a book signing, followed by a commemorative photo session, a congratulatory performance by the Big Boss Marching Band, an introduction and greeting by the author, introduction of distinguished guests, congratulatory remarks, and a conversation with the author.

Assemblyman Park Kyuntaek stated, "Assemblywoman Hwang Kyunga always radiates a bright and warm energy. I hope she continues to use her character for the community and brings even more warmth and brightness to our society," offering his words of encouragement.

Assemblyman Moon Geumju remarked, "While female heads of local governments have emerged in Seoul and Busan, it is time for Gwangju to have its first female leader as well. Assemblywoman Hwang Kyunga is a person of responsibility and loyalty, making her well-suited to be a regional leader."

Assemblyman Jung Jinwook said, "The main keywords describing Assemblywoman Hwang Kyunga in 'Tomorrow is Namgu' are 'service and responsibility,' 'upright sense of duty,' and 'consistency.' A politician needs three virtues: integrity, competence, and a warm heart. Assemblywoman Hwang Kyunga possesses all of these qualities."

Assemblyman Yang Bunam commented, "Chairwoman Hwang Kyunga has contributed greatly to political development not only for Namgu but also for the Democratic Party, working tirelessly for both Namgu and Seoul. Among female politicians, her abilities stand out. I hope this book launch will be a stepping stone for her to become a major political figure."

Hwang Kyunga, Gwangju Namgu District Council member, said, "This book launch contains records of my life, politics, and community. Those who have watched my journey with sincerity are gathered here today. The root of politics is in the field. By meeting residents and finding solutions on the ground, I believe people have continued to seek me out throughout my 12 years of legislative work. I will continue to strive forward."
